WEEK
EIGHT: STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS

FIT NUTRITION: STRATEGIES FOR SUCCESS
Losing
weight and getting fit is the first step, however, the real
goal should be keeping it that way.
Maintenance strategies:
Write a letter of encouragement
to yourself:
List how you feel after making
these changes, how it has improved your life, what specific
changes really worked for you, what challenges you face in
keeping it up and how you will meet them.
keep this letter in a safe place
and break it out whenever you need a reminder
Create a relapse plan:
Dont expect not to ever slip
up. It is human to slip up. The key is to have a plan for
when you do and try to keep the slip ups small.
Give yourself a thermostat
where your relapse plan kicks in for example: when
certain pants feel tight, or when youve gained five
pounds. When that happens, start to keep a food and activity
journal again and read the letter you wrote to yourself. If
you do slip up, dont dwell on it and feel guilty, just
move on.
GET
FIT FINAL EXERCISE ADVICE:
Obesity is an important contributing factor to the development
of hypertension. This is why it is so important to stay fit
and maintain an ideal body weight. Changes in diet, regular
exercise and changes in lifestyle will often correct hypertension.
Brisk
aerobic exercise leads to an increase in the level of high
density lipoprotein HDL, or good cholesterol, which can lower
your overall cholesterol reading.
Both
of these health risks, high blood pressure and high cholesterol,
can lead to serious health problems. However, getting into
a routine of aerobic exercise can reduce these risks.
Your improved
self esteem, newly found confidence, reduced health risks
and boundless energy is a great thing to see. However, this
is just the beginning. We have given out some very simple
tools to begin this program, and now its up to you to
keep it up.
